installation

[confused]

i am trying to install xp on my HP that has previously
ran windows 2000, but the hard drive went bad so i got
another one. it formats and restarts like it should but
then after restarting it does the same thing over again
by going to the text screen, Starting Windows what am i
doing wrong?

Are you leaving the XP CD in the drive during the reboot? Try taking it
out during the reboot and then putting it back in when prompted after setup
has continued.
