iexplore.exe causing High CPU utilization

I'm having precisely this same problem. Started about a
week ago. Running Windows XP on two laptops both
configured identically. One goes to 100% CPU utilization
on each new Explorer navigation. It stays at 100% for 5
seconds to two minutes (!) before finally loading the new
page. The other laptop goes to the same web sites in a
fraction of a second with CPU utilization staying below
5%. I'm at a loss.

I've tried cleaning up everything reported by Spybot &
Adware and I've looked for the registry entries posted by
(e-mail address removed) (they weren't there) and I'm still
having the problem. The problem appears on many but not
all web pages. It appears that the pages which cause the
problem contain Javascript though this could be a
coincidence. I have another Windows XP systems
configured almost identically to the problem machine and
it doesn't have the problem. Can't find any obvious
difference between the two machines.

Did you post your HijackThis log to their Forum as suggested?
