I removed the last update
I need to restart my computor
Will IE6 work or do I need reinstall version 6
I seem to not be the only one who has problems with IE7

If you set a Restore Point or the update installer did, you may be
able to roll your system back. This is an excellent example of why
I have my auto updates set to "notify me but do not download or
install." I chose not to install IE7 for the time being and checked
the box that says "don't remind me again".

Good luck in repairing your system.

I had some problems after getting IE7 from Windows Updates, but I haven't had
a problem yet getting it from "Windows Internet Explorer" home page. However,
I did get the Java 5.0 update 11 about the same time and removed my old
version of Java.

I have lived your experience.
I am not a happy camper.

The dysfunctional IE7 install on an HP XP Media Center caused all restore points to become unavailable.

After two days of trying to uninstall and reinstall IE7, I gave up. Removal of IE7 is supposed to restore IE6, and it
did... well, sort-of. IE6 had the new ie7 icon in the title bar. A few other things also did not work (like Windows
Update.) My posts are around here somewhere. I posted in so many places, I don't remember them all.

I ended up doing a Repair install. Applied updates again but excluded IE7 and blocked it from being a candidate.

Now Windows Live OneCare keeps warning me I'm going to hell or some such scary message (about critical update needs to
be installed but I have it blocked). Besides, I do most my browsing with another product.

Every time I do updates, I get harassed with scary and urgent warning messages.

I won't let it in the house again until I find some positive online news about the problem. There are just too many
people complaining.
