IE icon on desktop???

The IE icon was deleted from my desktop. And I can not find another place on
the pc to create one for my desktop. Internet Explorer is not listed under
"Start - programs" and I have gone to "search" and entered Internet Explorer
and nothing useful came back. I can go to "Start - search" and click on "On
the internet" and bring IE up that way, but who wants to go through that
every time. Anyway, all suggestions on how to put an IE icon on my desktop
will be appreciated. Thanks.

Right click Desktop, Select Properties
Go to "View" tab, Click on "Customize Desktop..."
Tick "Internet Explorer" under "Desktop Icons"
Click OK button twice.

Ayush gave you the means to easily return the IE icon to the desktop. FYI,
the file that starts internet explorer is iexplore.exe. That's what you
would search for.
