I get kicked off the Internet seconds after logon

I have been using AOL for a while, and uninstalled the
software after my free trial was up. Now I can establish a
connection of any type (through Juno, etc...), but I get
kicked off immediately after logon. I suspect that AOL has
overwritten a file or has changed a setting for my dial-up
connections - can anyone tell my how to rid myself of this
annoying problem?!
I had this same problem a few years ago, after I had
uninstalled AOL, and I had to reformat! Please help me
avoid this time consuming last resort. Thanks, Erich

What errors do you get when you get "kicked off"? It could be the Blaster
virus
