Connection Error (692) when trying to connect with Juno software

I have been using AOL 7.0, since it was pre-installed on
my WinXP computer, and came with a free 6-month trial.
Now that the time has run up, I want to switch from AOL
to Juno. I have downloaded Juno's software, but get the
following error message when I try to connect:
Connection Error (692) There was a hardware failure in
the modem (or other connecting device). The modem is not
properly configured, etc...
I know that there can not be a hardware conflict with the
modem, since it worked just fine with AOL. I have
disabled all startup programs in msconfig, and rebooted
my computer, but the problem persists. I would appreciate
any advice. -Erich

have you tried uninstalling AOL completely? AOL likes to make it so you
cant run anything else sometimes.
