Shared Internet Connection via AOL

Fred

I have an XP box connected to the Internet via AOL dial-
up. I want to have my Win 98 box share this Internet
connection. I ran the wizard on the XP box, created a set
up disk for the W98 box, and ran it.

The XP assigns an IP address to the W98 box fine, with the
XP's IP as the gateway, and as the DNS server.

I cannot ping an Internet IP address on the W98 box (I can
ping the XP box okay).

In the Network Connections window, on the XP box, the AOL
connection says "Disconnected" even when I am connected
(It also says "Shared, Firewalled"). When I watch the
Network Connections window while AOL dials, I see an entry
pop in, and then disappear before I can read what it is.

I am suspecting that the AOL software doesn't really use
the AOL entry in the Network Connections window, though
that is just a guess.

If anyone has a solution to this, while I wait for my
satellite ISP to get set up, I'd appreciate it.
