A
Angel
I have XP Home and installed all updates, including SP2.
I installed AOL 9. When AOL is running and I switch to
another user account when I log off of the second user
account I get the following message:
"Windows. The dial up networking connection 'The Internet
(2)' is currently active. Would you like to close this
connection?"
Also, in the control panel a dial up connection is listed
for AOL, it shows 56K modem and says disconnected. If I
right click properties or delete, it does nothing. If I
double click on it, it opens AOL. AOL is configured to
open with my LAN ethernet network card. I also have the
LAN network listed there which shows my ethernet card.
I have a 56K modem in the computer, but it is not being
used (no phone line attached to it).
Why am I getting a message about a "dial up network
connection being active when I don't have any dial up
connection?
AOL said this is a Windows problem because Windows is
giving the message.
Does this have anything to do with SP2? I only got this
computer 2 weeks ago, and applied SP2 before installing
AOL or putting it on the internet.
Can someone help me? Thank you.
Sincerely, Angel
