Can't get a "properties" window for dial-up connection

To enable or disable my ICF, I was instructed to go to
network connections through the control panel and right
click on my connection (which is dial-up AOL) and click
properties and look in the advanced tab. Well, when I
right click the dial-up icon and click properties nothing
happens. I do not get a properties window????

I can get a properties window to open when I right click
my LAN icon, but I am not using a LAN connection.

Does anybody know why a properties window will not open
for my dial-up icon in network connections?

AOL's software doesn't allow you to access the connection's
properties. That's a deliberate design decision by AOL.

Does this also apply to MSN? I have a laptop that I have MSN on and
have upgraded to the latest version which is 9 and it will not allow m
to get a "properties" window for dial-up connection? Can you furthe
enlighten me on why this may be happening?? Thanks in advance.
