I deleted the showdesktop icon off of my computer completely

I was looking at my desktop and I saw the master show desktop icon
there and for some stupid reason i just dropped it into the recycle
bin and threw it away completely...
Is there any way I can get it back?

or try this:

You have deleted the Show Desktop shortcut from the Quick Launch Bar.

You should have a copy in the System folder, normally
C:\Windows\System or C:\Windows\System32
Just copy "Show Desktop.scf" to (Win9x)
C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
or for XP/Win2K
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Quick Launch

1. Open Notepad,
2. Copy/Paste following lines in it :

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

3. Click File, Save as..
4. Copy/Paste the following line in File name box :
%appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Show Desktop.scf
5. Click OK
