LOST ICON FOR RECYCLE BIN

My daughter was cleaning out her extras, and somehow deleted powerpoint. I
thought it would be in the recyle bin, but no icon shows on the desktop for
the recycle bin. How do I restore the icon? I tried right clicking on the
desktop to properties and also with new.
