lost recycle bin icon

This will sound strange, but you don't know my father-in-law. He says his
recycle bin icon disappeared and he can't find his recycle bin any more. We
had him delete a file and then search for it and his recycle bin does exist,
the icon has just disappeared. He says he didn't delete the icon, but I'm
not sure that's all together true.

What I need to know is how do you recover that icon, or associate a new icon
with it? What is the path for the recycle bin? He's running XP Pro w/SP2.
You can locate a deleted file in the recycle bin, but there's no icon
associated with it. I haven't had him run the system restore yet, but that
may be next. Unless he's tinkering with it as I write this. In that case
who knows where we'll be with this tomorrow.

Any help would be appreciated so I can get this fixed for him before he
feels the need to "tinker" some more.

Thanks
