How to reinstall CD and DVD Drives After Uninstalling!!! Can't fi

Hi,

I was following someone's directions on this website about fixing lost
drives. In device manager the CD and DVD drives showed with errors but could
not find the drives anywhere else. So as per instructed I uninstalled the
drives. I was supposed to reinstall after uninstalling and then reboot. But
they are not listed anymore at all since I uninstalled them. HOW DO I
REINSTALL THEM?!!

XP should automatically reinstall them... provided it can find them.

If it cannot find them, then it can't reinstall them.

Check that they are still in the BIOS. If not, then physically open the
case and check the power and ribbon cables are still connected to the
drives.

If the cables are connected and the BIOS cannot find them, then they are
dead and should be replaced.

If the BIOS finds them, check in Device Manager after you start the PC that
XP has now found and installed the drivers.
