cd/dvd drive not working..

im trying to play a cd/dvd and the drive just isnt working. When i go into
mycomputer to play it the drive isnt there. I have went through the
troubleshooting in the device manager. Tried uninstalling then reinstalling
but still the error message is " windows cannot load device driver for this
hardware. The driver may be corrupted of missing code 39"?? Ive tried windows
update as well with no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
