Help! Lost both DVD drives

J

JeffG

I went to install some new software and found that both my DVD drives
had disappeared (DVD-ROM and DVD-RW). Both showed an exclamation mark in
Device Manager and the problem was listed as "Failed to load device
driver. Driver may be corrupted or missing (Code 39)".

I'm not sure when this happened as I have not used CD's for a couple of
weeks (or more).

Following the troubleshooter did not help in any way - so I'm looking
for help here. Please!
