CD/DVD Removal

My CD rom and DVD have stopped being recognized and now have a ! beside them
in device manager. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avasil. Can
someone help?

Check the ribbon cable inside the box to make sure both ends are properly
seated/connected.
Try a different ribbon cable to see if the one presently used is bad.

Hi HWB,

Do you have a slow computer with a CD and DVD inside? How fast is your
computer? If slow, then you need to make some changes. You need to change
the Primary or Secondary Controller to PIO Only.
