DVD ROM & DVD burner install problemsMy system

My system: P4,512 RAM, running Win XP home Ed.

Original equipment CR-ROM and a DVD ROM

1. I purchased a Pioneer DVD Burner

2. Removed the DVD ROM

3. Installed the new DVD Burner, Installed the DVD Burneer software.
Computer gagged and would not complete software install
Tried several times, same results
4. Removed the DVD Burner

5. Reinstalled the original DVD ROM

6. Went to Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager/DVD/CD
Right clicked on the listing for DVD ROM then clicked
Uninstall.

7. Removed the DVD ROM, Installed the DVD Burner

8 Installed the DVD Burner software, no problems DVD Burner working
as advertised.

Now the Problem!!!

Tried to put the DVD ROM in the computer in place of the CD ROM.
Computer will not recognize the DVD ROM.

Downloaded the drived from the DVD ROM mfg web site. NO help

Any suggestion/comments appreciated

How about the jumper settings. Could they both be set as master?

Cari \(MS-MVP\)

Sounds like you have both jumpers at the rear of the drives set to Master
instead of one to Master and one to Slave.
