DVD Burner and Dvd Rom not recognizing DVDs

Lately I can no longer see my DVDs on my computer, it tells me to insert
disk, when I do so no response.
If I insert a Cd it responds.
My DVD Burner is I/OMAGIC Dual Format 4X, and my DVD ROM is aLiteon.
I hope somebody can help me to correct this problem.

Hello...
Check your file associations to be sure you have the program you are using
to view DVDs set at the default to play. If CDs are playing correctly, then
the program you were using to view a DVD became unassociated.
In explorer, tools, folder options, file types. Assign your program to view
the DVDs here and be sure the default is play.
