How to maximize IE6 window

Recently built new computer with fresh win xp home. When I
would click on a link in IE6 the 2nd window always opened
maximized. Now after installing Mailwasher (which works
pretty well) the 2nd window always opens minimized and I
have to click the little box in upper right corner. After
closing this window when it opens again it's always
minimized. There must be a way to have additional windows
open maximized. Thanks

I learned and use this "trick".

-Open a problem window.
-Click on the two squares in upper right to make it just one square if
that's the case.
-The cursor should becomes a two-headed arrow when placed on window borders.
Drag it to all four sides or corners of screen until it's biggest.
-Close by holding Ctrl and Shift keys down at same time while clicking on
the X.

Hopefully, window will open properly sized next time. Curious to find
out...

After window opens, did you stretch the size to fit the screen without using
the button in the upper right hand corner?
