Internet Explorer Maximize

I've noticed that whenever I surf the web, right click on a link and then
click on open in new window, the new window always opens up at maybe 50% of
its sized, never maximized. I end up always having to manually maximize the
window.

I've tried stretching the new window to fit the full screen, then closing it
down, then trying to open link in a new window, but it doesn't help.

Is there any way to get the windows to open maximized? I am running Win XP
Pro.
