Maximize Window Size When Opened

I have an hp pavilion ze4800 laptop with One-Touch buttons. I touch one and
it opens an applcation in a maximized or full screen window, every time. I
open another and it opens in a small, minimized window, every time. No
matter how many times I maximize and close the second window, it opens in a
small window.

Is there a way to tell it to always open in the maximized window? Thanks!

Don't use the Maximize button (Top right) to maximize the second window. Instead, use the mouse cursor to position the window at the top left of the screen and then resize the window by dragging the lower right corner until it fills the entire screen. Lastly, close the window by pressing the ALT+F4 keys.

Thanks, Ronnie, when I tried that it reopened in the small size every time.
Is this a hopeless task??

Unfortunately, it may be hopeless as this may be the way the keyboard buttons are programmed to work.

Check for any options in the keyboard configuration that may resolve this behavior.

Ronnie, The Newsgroup window itself is Minimized, then THIS window pops up
minimized - what determines that? Can it be changed or accessed? Thanks!

Thanks. What seems so odd is that one button will launch, say, Quicken in
maximized size, but then another open www.google.com in a small window. I
can't seem to find any "option" that alters this.
