File opening minimized

Good day. I am using Excel 2013 on a Windows 8 computer. If opening a
file by right-clicking on the
Excel icon, the file opens minimized. When the file was open
previously, it was closed from a maximized
position. If I open Excel first and select the file from the 'Open
menu', the files opens as it should .... maximized.
How can I stop the files opening in the smaller view from the
right-click selection?
