How do I get past Windows user login page - no mouse?

I'm running Windows XP Home, SP2. Was having problems with LogicTech Optical
mouse and installing latest driver. Now windows does not respond to the
mouse. When I get to the Windows logon page and it wants me to choose (click
on the user) I'm stuck. Is there a keyboard way past this? I've tried
serveral different mice (USB, PS/2, serial). I've tried F8 during boot and
choosing the various choices. Thanks.

and then install a driver from Logitech, NOT from Microsoft.
