How do I get out of Safe Mode?

A friend was using my computer earlier today and deleted a couple of files in
Add/Remove Programs. She thought that she was deleting AIM, but now she isn't
sure because when she restarted the computer, folders she opened appeared to
move in a "wave" motion to each side of the screen. Thinking that this may be
a virus, she put through Norton Anti Virus, which came out clear.

By the time I got to the computer, I realised that the text was larger than
normal, and the system seemed quite basic. My internet connection is also
running very slow. I am guessing that this means my computer is in Safe Mode,
but I am not sure how to get out of Safe Mode with Windows XP Home Edition. I
have restarted several times, and I have also tried a System Restore for
several different dates, none of which restore my computer.

Is there a way to see what files were deleted in an archive? And what is
happening to my computer? Am I correct in saying that it is running in Safe
Mode?

Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Sounds like graphics drivers, eg ATI
either visit your graphic card site to download drivers for your specific
card, or your PC manu.

Probably not.
Does it say "Safe Mode" in each of the corners?
If not, you are not in Safe Mode.
Instead you probably need to reinstall the video drivers.

Thank you very much for your response. How would I go about doing this? And
how do I know what my graphic card is?

If your PC is a large OEM, eg Dell/HP etc visit their site and use your tag#
or model number on the support section.
If its a Laptop visit laptop site.
If a generic PC, read your specs, or download Beleric
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html a tool that will revael a whealth
of info on your PC.
If you still have problems, post back the Beleric result for your
motherboard, and graphics/video adapter
