How come in Help and Support accessed from the Start Menu in Windows XP Home
Edition (and Windows XP Professional) the Help and Support Center says
"When you are connected to the Internet, this area will display links to
timely help and support information. If you want to connect to the internet
now, START THE NEW CONNECTION WIZARD and see how to establish a Web
connection through and Internet Service Provider", but I AM currently
connected to the internet so where and why is this message coming from?

It's the same on my system, in other words, it's normal for that to
show. Doesn't affect anything.

Agreed, but the feature is there for a reason, and there are times in the
past when that area has indicated that my Help and Support options have been
updated, and then like I said other times it does not say this. I would
rather get an indication from Microsoft that I have contacted their server
successfully, wouldn't you, so why the discrepancy?

It doesn't create any problems, I don't pay any attention to it and just
do what I need to do in Help and Support. Why worry about it?

You can turn it off in H&S - Options, click Set Search Options, and
uncheck Microsoft Knowledge Base

On my system, even unchecking all options in the Set Search Optrions
window, that message still remains.
