Hotmail problems

I have SP2 installed, but cannot access hotmail messages.
Cannot access through messenger (6.2 version), nor directly
to msn.com or hotmail.com. keep getting restricted access
message or page not able to display as if not connected to
the server.

Hi,

Is RTCIMSP.DLL in your \Program Files\Messenger directory? This is the RTC Instant Messanger Service Provider. The SP2 install removed the DLL from this directory without updating the registry, so perhaps it should still be there (or the registry should have been updated with the new location).

BTW, RTCIMSP.DLL has not been removed from the hard drive. I can now find it in two places:

\WINNT\$NtServicePackUninstall$
\WINNT\ServicePackFiles\i386

The files are the same, most current version-->4.0.3599.0

You could always try copying the file to \Program Files\Messanger and see what happens. And I'd like to get my registry pointing to the correct location.

Hi Eric,
Keith here i was also advised to go critical updates and load SP3 which i
did and that has sorted out my problems, thanks for your help.
