Home built system halting on install of XP Pro

Hi,

A little help: I have recently upgraded my system, with
new MB, Chip and hard drive. I am attempting to install
XP Pro and have fdisk'd and formatted the new drive,
however the setup freezes at random intervals, i.e. one
time I try to install the setup gets all the way to
copying files onto the new drive, other times it stops as
soon as I select 'install new copy of XP' from the setup
meno. Am I doing something wrong or is this a hardware
failure of some sort?

You didnt/dont need FDisk,xp new copy will format the hd first,from her
boot to xp cd,recovery if it lets you with no OS,press enter for password
type:CHKDSK C: /R then type:EXIT when its thru,reboot to cd,retry instal
xp.
