History during 98 use won't erase since XP install

Since switching to XP Home, Autocomplete continues to display site history in the address bar from when I was using Windows 98; it won't delete. History since XP installation deletes okay. Site history from the days of Windows 98 use has been successfully deleted from "History" column on main page -- it just continues to appear in Autocomplete address bar searches (no relation to disabling the search from Autocomplete section). What is causing this and how to remedy? Thanks!

You probably have a corrupted History folder.

Delete the damaged History folder- a new one will be created on restart.

Free History Eraser from

History folder in Windows 9x,2K, XP.
