History item keeps resurfacing

I am in need of erasing on of my history items, if I clear history and all
offline content, it's still there. If I turn off autocomplete, it does not
appear from the pull down address bar, but when I search the history it is
still there and I would like it erased completely. I understand I can erase
some index.dat from the temporary internet files (from searching this forum)
but I was wondering if someone had the entire address/source for that - I
did not want to erase the wrong one-there seems to be more than one. Any
help would be appreciated.

Hi,
This URL you're seeing may be in the index.dat file in the History folder.
Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder (and the index.dat file) and a new one will be created when
you restart.
Or the History folder can be deleted manually:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
Or CCleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/ should be able to clear the
History
and the index.dat file. Just check the appropriate boxes and run it.

Hope this helps,
