deleting address history

I have gone through the normal steps of erasing history
from my address bar. Some web pages are "stuck" in
history and I can not delete them. Many of these are
obsolete addresses. How can I completely clean the
history and links?

IE>>Tools>>Internet Options>>Temporary Internet Files>>Delete Files
IE>>Tools>>Internet Options>>History>>Clear History

This method usually works for me.

You probably have corruption in the History folder or it's index.dat file.
Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder (and the index.dat file) and a new one will be created when
you restart.
Or the History folder can be deleted manually:
