Hi,
With no IE windows open, try clearing the History from Control Panel>
Internet Options> General> Clear History.
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=323687

These entries might be in the registry in a TypedURLs key:
157729 - How to Clear the History Entries in Internet Explorer:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q157729
For an easier, safer removal method, go to
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
and download "DelTypedURL." This INF file will remove ALL entries.

These two freeware programs will remove SOME or ALL entries:
IE Address Bar Editor: http://www.freesoft.fsnet.co.uk/ieedit01.htm
EditURLs: http://www.aandrc.com/editurls/index.htm

You might need to delete the History folder to remove these URLs- a new
History folder will be created on restart.
See: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder in Windows 9x,2K, XP.

Hope this helps,

I have the same problem & none of the suggestions worked.
The addresses do not appear when I click the down arrow on the address bar,
but when I type the first letter of the web address a whole list appears.

Clearing the History should delete these. Autocomplete can be disabled from
Internet Options> Content> Autocomplete.

217148 - How to Use the AutoComplete Feature in Internet Explorer:

If these won't clear due to corruption in the History folder or index.dat
file, deleting the History folder is the solution.
See: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder in Windows 9x,2K, XP.
