Help Plze Urgent - Bootable CD

Hello,
I have a Averatec 3250 laptop with window XP which doesn<t want to start.

When I start the laptop, it stop at the windows boot-up and ask me if I want
to start in safe mode or ....... when I choose anyone of the following the
laptop doesn<t do anything.

I have made a bootable cd from an other computer and when used in the
laptop, I can see my drive from my laptop but in dos only.

Before installing a recovery reinstalled I need a back-up of all my emails.

I have no 3.5 drive only my hard drive and a DVD+CD-RW.

I don<t have much experience in troubleshooting, please help.

I need to save those emails.

I have bought an external 2.5 hard drive that connects into USB port but can
see with any computer when connected but can feel the hard drive turning
inside.

Google for BartPE or better yet : Ultimate Windows Boot CD...
Create one, boot with it, get your stuff off.
