Help please with update not working

[Kriterian]

I'm about 13 critical updates/service packs behind because they will not
install. Every time I try to download and install them with Windows Update
from IE tools menu I get the following message:

"The software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing to
verify it's compatibility with Windows XP. The software will not be
installed, please contact your administrator."

I'm used to seeing this with drivers but I've never seen on it files
downloaded FROM Microsoft. I want to get this laptop secure. Is there
another way to install these updates manually without testing the logo
stuff. Is this from a virus?

You Cannot Install Some Updates or Programs "Digital Signature not found"
When you use the Windows Update Web site to install updates, the installation
fails and the Windows Update.log file contains error 80070643.

Thanks a bunch, this helped alot and I was able to install the updates. I'm
not sure why I could find these when I searched Microsofts database myself.
