Help!! CD-ROM driver corrupted

S

Si_Dude

My CD-ROM driver got corrupted (during Roxio install I think), it worked
fine before. I get a yellow flag against the CD-ROM drive to indicate that
there is something wrong with that device. Short of re-installing Win2000, I
have tried everything from installing a new/different CD-ROM drive to
combinations of uninstalling/deleting/updating the driver without any
success. I cannot seem to get Win2000 to install a clean driver from the
install disk or anywhere else. Anyone have this problem before? Are there
any 3rd party tools to wipe out the old driver completely and replace with a
clean driver from the Win2000 disk? I would like to make one more attempt to
replace this driver before I consider re-installing Win2000. Thx. Any
help/pointers appreciated....

Have you tried to remove the device and then restart to let Windows find the
device again and install a driver?
