CD ROM not registered

I had two perfeclty working CD ROMs on my Win2000 Professional computer. One - Liteon CD, the other - Plextor CD-RW. Then I did two things: first I installed .NET platform (v.1.1), rebooted the machine, and installed Roxio CD Creator (v.5.3.4).

After that my CD-ROMs are marked with exclamation mark in the device manager, and there is no way to make them working again! I tried to un-install both, they come back after re-boot with the same result. I tried another CD-ROM. The same thing: windows installs it automatically, but marks with exclamation mark (not wirking!).

Of course, I cannot my CD-ROMs in windows explorer

Help!

My experience with EasyCD creator (adaptec & roxio versions) has always been
"disappointing" on w2k.
I'd start by removing roxio.app...

Never had any problems since switching to Nero.

Some time ago I had 'Easy CD Creator' that came with my CD drive. Eventually
it killed my burner and screwed up my system. Changed to Nero and all has
been well.
