Two CD-ROM?

For unknown reasons my Win2K computer suddenly shows two CD-ROM drives
(E: and F:) as indicated in Windows Explore while there is only one
CD-ROM drive installed. Apparently Drive F: is valid and Drive E: is
false because when a CD is in the drive and Drive E: is clicked it asks
to insert a disk.
I don'r know how it happened and how this is potentially problematic.
Please tell me how I can get rid of the spurious drive.

(This problem may have something to do with the fact that I recently
used Nero to burn a CD.)

Many thanks to Stubby.
"Virtual drive" never occurred to me. Since it is not causing problems,
I will leave it as it is.
Just for your reference, however, I once uninstalled Nero to see if it
would remove the drive E:, but it did not. (So I reinstalled the
software.) I had previously used Nero a few times including fomatting
new disks, but it did not create a new drive. Could you tell why now?

I believe that is a virtual drive, created by Nero to test the
formatting process without actually burning a disk. If you intend to
use Nero, you should leave the drive in place.

If you actually have a 'CD Rom' drive, it will only run CDs, you can't
burn anything with it. You need to go to device mmanager (r. click my
computer/properties/hardware/device manager). Under 'dvd/cd-rom' drives
have a look at the description of what optical drives are recognised and
working. Nero shouldn't create virtual drives (well my version of it
doesn't). If one is shown under device manager then delete it to get rid.

If you know English a bit, I suggest you to go back to my post and read
it carefully.

Apparently you don't seem to comprehend my reply. Perhaps you have the
problem with understanding English as well as computers.
