Hi,
I just did the Vista Upgrade Advisor Test and it said that my audio driver is not compatible with Vista.
There saying I have to upgrade but actually I would be downgrading.Where Vista is suppose to be Hi Tech why don't they
support HD?

From Vista Advisor:
HD Audio Driver Install a specialized audio driver:
Your system is configured for high-definition audio, which does not work with Windows Vista.
You might lose audio capability if you install Windows Vista. Contact your computer manufacturer to see if an upgrade is available.

My Sound Card:
Sound/Audio Integrated High Definition audio, Realtek ALC 882 chipset,
Supports up to 8 audio channels, Dolby Pro Logic II compatible

Hi Lincoln,

Yes it helps a little. I checked my Device Manager and noticed that I have the Realtek HD Audio and the Legacy Drivers.
Does that mean that I have both "Drivers"and the Legacy will kick in if there is a problem?
The HD Item doesn't say "Driver" Just the Legacy Audio & Video do.

Hey buddy,

The program told me the same, Vista does not support my HD sound card, but I
did the installation anyways. Surely, when all was complete, sound was not
working, but I ran the driver installation and it all went smooth anyways.
My HD sound works fine.

If the software sometimes does not wish to run since the setup detects
itself that it is not in XP, you can run the program so it things it's in XP
mode. Vista actually asks you this itself if the program startup fails or
such.

Hope this helps,
Petar

P.S.
You can also leave XP on another partition and then instruct Vista to try
and search for drivers in the Windows XP folder there. This worked for some
devices I have.
