Hardware failure after incorrect shut down

My pc was on "stand-by" mode when I accidentally switched it off at the plug, therefore the pc wasn't shut down properly. When I switched it back on, the monitor stayed black with the green light flikkering, the mouse and keyboard don't work at all. The only thing working is the pc box, I can hear it
running.

I took another spare pc box and connected the monitor, keyboard and mouse to it, everything working fine.

What can I do? Is the faulty pc box still in "stand-by" mode perhaps and
how can I get it to work again without me being able to see what's going on
on the monitor?

Thanks

Amanda

Try strarting the pc again. Switching of the power does not normally cause failures.
