go offline as soon as I click on send, sends immediately after reconnecting

This happens every time I attempt to send an email. I
imediately go offline. The connect box pops up, I
reconnect and right away whatever I was sending gets sent
out automatically. This is very frustrating, especially
since I have dial-up, so it is slow getting mail sent
out. No trouble receiving. Thank you for any help you
can give me. My email address is (e-mail address removed)

First thing to check is in tools/options/connection tab.
Uncheck the "Hang up after sending and receiving" box.
