email won't open for sending pics

O

oldmanlat

Hi.
I've always sent photos by right clicking, on a photo, in the context menu,
I selected "Send To", then "Mail Recipient"

A box pops up asking me if I want to re-size the photo.
I select "make My Pictures Smaller"
It would then automatically open Outlook Express, where the photos were
already attached.
All I had to do do is select a recipient, and send the mail w/ pics.

Out of the clear blue, now, when I right click, "send to", "mail recipient",
I still get the option to re-size, but it doesn't take me to email anymore. I
immediately open Outlook Express, but the photo email to be sent, doesn't
exist.
Thanks.

And why are you posting this again? You asked 12 hours ago. You got answers.
And you said it was resolved.

Apparently you ASSUMED it was the same post. It isn't!
Try reading them again, there is a big difference.
Read it CAREFULLY this time and you'll see I posted a new, different question.

Sorry 'bout that. I didn't assume, I jumped to a conclusion since it started
off so similarly.

My guess is the reg hack from earlier may be the reason. Start by making
sure Outlook Express is still set as default

Make OE the default e-mail client:
http://www.oehelp.com/oedef.aspx

For links in e-mail:
http://www.oehelp.com/oelnk.aspx

And:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306098

Restores OE to the E-mail clients list in Internet Options
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/oe_client.htm

If you have MS Outlook installed, also see:
http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#13

"Send To" and E-mail Links Do Not Work Using Outlook Express as Default:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306098

If still no joy, see if you can undo the reg hack you did and get it back to
where it was before your earlier post, and then solve your first problem
this way.

Make sure no programs are running. (IE, OE, etc.).

Copy and paste the command in Start | Run:

REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL

Click OK and reboot. Turn off and power back up. Don't use Turn Off |
Restart.

Or:

Disable [or Enable] Resize Graphic - Send To (Line 269, Left Side)

That's it's ok.
I've been known to do the same thing (more than once) No hard feelings.
I copied the list of possible fixes, and I'll try them.

I forgot to tell you one important thing, this 2nd post referred to a
different computer, the first post (where I lost the re-size option) works
100%
after the reg fix.

Thanks for helping again.

You're welcome & glad to help with what I can. Hopefully what I provided
will fix your problem.

When you have issues with Outlook Express, you would be better off posting
to and OE newsgroup rather than an XP operating system newsgroup. Simply
put, there are more OE knowledgeable people there then there are here.

Outlook Express 6 Newsgroup:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress

Outlook Express General Newsgroup:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general

On the Web:

Please red the next line, you must Have missed it when you replied.

I would still suggest looking at those links and making sure OE is set as
default.
