hey ppl

could you help pick parts for a m8's new pc

he wants it for gaming mainly and films

think he should get a 8800 gpu, 2gb memory, but not sure what cpu - better with dual or quad core ?
what about moboboards ?

if you have time maybe you can pick a few parts from www.overclockers.co.uk

think hes got about 700-900 pounds, not needing keyboard, mouse or moniter

cheers for any help

What size and res is the monitor?

Top spec for that budget going for a 22" monitor or above would be something like this....

Lower than a 22" and a 8800GTS 640MB will be fine, dropping the price to £857 ish.

Price/parts is negotiable, do you need an OS? if so then we can go for something a little cheaper. to keep in budget. :)

EDIT: Bugger i forgot about a PSU! Back in a tick.

Thats better, had to loose the X-FI, but the on board is good enough, although the X-FI is good for games and movies.

looks good - thax for taking the time to throw a rig together

i'll pass it onto him and let you know what he thinks

that will be a good set-up for him and he can change some of the parts if he wants
