Fresh Install of Windows XP

HI; I'm trying to Install a fresh copy of windows XP and delete the old
partition, I used the XP CD. I selected to install a fresh copy of Windows
XP,it gathered data to prepare then the computer booted up from CD to
continue. When I got to the part where it asked me if I wanted to Delete the
old partition, I clicked to Delete. Then a box came up saying. Setup is
unable to perform the requested operation on the selected partition. This
partition contains temporary Setup files that are required to complete the
Instructions. So I had to abort. Can you tell me step by step on how to
delete old partition and Format new one.So I can put the Computer Back to how
it was when it was new. I hope you can Help as soon as possible, Because I
realy Depend on This Computer.
