I was having problems with my PC so i decided to reformat it. I had done
this a few times before on this same PC. So i booted up the PC from the OS
recovery disk I got with the PC. I deleted the old OS and formated the now
unused space for windows xp. The pc restarted and then began to install
windows it installed fine untill it got to the 'installing windows' part of
the OS install it began 'installing devices' and it got up to a certain point
then stoped. The computer didn't freeze, but the installation wouldn't go
any further. I tried to restart it several times but it kept stopping at the
same spot, i' dont really know what else to do, any help would be appricated.

try formating the hard drive completely. Yes you will lose all info on the
drive but the drive may be messed up from scattered reformats. Me I would use
a free disk format utility then load the os. You may of not formatted the
whole drive from what you say here you formatted the free space. Try a total
format
