Footer on Slides in Powerpoint 2000

Hello

I am attempting to enter a Footer into my slides, however, when I select
View > Header & Footer from the menu bar - the oblongs that show the place
holders in the preview window are not there.

I have selected the options that I require (namely Slide number), but
nothing is shown up on the slide. I have checked that there are no
images/pictures/backgrounds in the way - and there aren't.

I am using a template that has been sent to me, if I create a new blank
presentation, the header/footer placeholders are there.

Can anyone shed any light on the subject please

Hello Again

Did not find out what the problem was, however, I copied the footer
placeholders to the template/document I was working on from a new
presentation and now the placeholders within View>Header & Footer are now
there.

This seems to now be working OK.

Thanks anyway.

Glad you got it figured out.

Usually you can go to View | Master | Slide Master and then Format | Master
Layout and turn on the missing placeholders in the resulting dialog box.

Hi Echo S

Thanks for your reply and the answer - had gone into the Slide Master, but
did not think of then choosing Format the Master Layout - simple as that....

Many thanks

Sue
