File for Windows Security Update?

R

Ryan

I work at a call center and am assisting an end-user using Windows XP SP2.
Windows is prompting her to run a security update. I can remote into her
computer with VNC, and can click on the yellow shield in the System Tray,
but even though I'm VNC'd in Windows with an administrative account, the
update tries to run under her user account and fails because she doesn't
have admin rights.

Is there a specific file I can access to run the security update? I figure
if so, I can do a "Run As". Thanks.

What is the update?
Perhaps its the Genuine Windows Advantage tool, which seems to be causing no
end of problems

You should be fired, and shot. In that order.

True, but that's OT.

Give her account admin privileges, do the update, and change the account
back to user privileges when you're done.

That'll be U$20.00.

If you're using VNC screen 0, then if she's logged in as a user,
YOU'RE logged in as a user.

And once the security update's run in as administrator, it should be
good to go.
