XP OE email causing IE to lock up

Hi

At my aunts this morning she told me that she'd received her TalkTalk online
email bill, and when she clicks on the hyperlink in it, to "View my bill"
(i.e. IE should fire up and take her to TalkTalk login etc.), nothing
happens. OE becomes unresponsive | have to Ctrl+Alt+Del to end the
unresponding OE, and subsequent launches of IE will not load her home page
(Google), IE just sits there with a white page and nothing on it. One has
to reboot to get IE going again.

Tired the Mr. Fixits for IE hangs & Crashes, and the Fixit for hyperlinks
not working in OE emails,
Installed latest Sun Java, ...for some strange reason,
.....ran the fxit for IE plug-ins that could be causing problems.

She runs AVG full Internet security suite, and her problems seem similar to
mine last week or so ago, when I was trying to work out whether a group of
Windows updates, or AVG, was responsible.

Any tips appreciated.

Try opening the browser and paste the URL into the address field.

Thanks, ...this afternoon, uninstalled and reinstalled AVG internet security
suite and now all is okay.
