File does not open in Explorer

G

Geoff

Recently I have discovered that when I try to open an
Excel file (or CVS) from Explorer I get a message that
says, "Cannot find the file "C\Documents and
Settings\Geoff\My Documents\file.xls' (or one of its
components). Make sure the path and filename are correct
and that all required libraries are available."

In addition, if I right click on the file and choose "OPEN
WITH" and then choose Microsoft Excel, I get the same
message.

However, I can open the file just fine from within
Microsoft Excel or if I drag the file icon over the MS
Excel icon.

Any help?

thank you

Hi Geoff,

Fix this as follows:

Start, run,

"c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Excel.exe" /regserver

Use the quotes and check the path.
