Feedback - error report

A week ago I posted a question (below)

Thanks go to Wesley Vogel as I have not had an unscheduled reboot for a week
as a result.

I would be interested to find out how to open and interpret the contents of
the Windows/Minidump folder as to the cause of the problem.

Regards
Mark

=========
I have a problem where the box crashes at least once a day and restarts. It
has XP Pro and Office Pro 2003 and a bunch of other stuff. Its a home office
PC and even when I go out and leave it I come home to find that it has
rebooted and gives a "serious error" report.

This is the message:

BCCode : c5 BCP1 : 7453624F BCP2 : 00000002 BCP3 : 00000001
BCP4 : 80538160 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 1_0 Product : 256_1

I would appreciate diagnostic help with this.

Mark,

IMHO, chasing after mini dumps is a waste of time. You will spend more time
than it is worth. You have to have the symbols; blah, blah. XP crashes way
less than any other MS operating system. However, it can and will crash.
If you have a program than causes this quite often, uninstall the program
then re-install it.

Better off just looking at errors in the Event Viewer. Even chasing after
some of these can be a waste of time.

To open the Event Viewer...
Start | Run | Type: eventvwr | OK

If an event piques your interest...

Double click the event in Event Viewer | Click: the button below the second
arrow (looks like two pages) [[Copies the details of the event to the
Clipboard.]] | Paste into Notepad | Click:
