In a system that came with XP preinstalled and only a recovery disk, how
do I add fax capability. Can I use any XP install disk or download the
required files from the web?

Go to:
Start>Control Panel>Add & Remove Programs>Add & Remove Windows
Components>Check Fax Services

If your computer is running Factory OEM Software you shouldn't need to put
the disk in.
