Excel crashes when I try to change the font color

Whenever I try to change the font color in Excel 2007 - the program shuts
down. I have found others with this problem at
http://help.lockergnome.com/office/...g-color-font-change-crash-ftopict1000328.html.
This website explained the problem had to do with the printer drivers from
HP. I changed the default printer and the problem stopped. It still is a
pain to change the default printer everytime I want to work on Excel though.
Does Microsoft offer a fix for this?

It would seem more likely that an updated printer driver from HP would
be the solution.

I am having same problem as Brian and I do have an HP printer c6180. I will
go to HP site to see if there is a patch or new drivers; does anyone have a
solution? This is a real bummer

I came to the forums trying to figure out why Excel crashes whenever I try
to change the color of the font in a cell and found this. It certainly
explains why my computer is crashing because I too am using an HP printer.
Oddly enough though, Excel has been working fine for quite a while... it only
started having this problem a couple of weeks ago when I installed the most
up to date HP driver!!!
